Lovely! You can send Jack my way anytime you like! ๐
flyingscribbler says
Icy, this is a delight. It’s a beautiful, frosty, heart-warming tale. Perfect for Christmas Eve. Thank you!
Laurita says
Beautiful story, and warm despite the frost. I love the last little detail about the window paintings.
Sam says
A beautiful story, Icy. There’s the real feel of an old fairytale about this piece. Perfect seasonal fare. ๐
John Wiswell says
I never tried magically restoring youth to woo a lady. I’ve been going about it all wrong!
Merry Christmas, Icy!
Icy Sedgwick says
Demonesprit – I always envisioned Jack Frost as being a fairly dapper gent!
Flyingscribbler – Thank you!
Laurita – I’ve always thought the patterns in frost are pretty. Small compensation for the misery the snow brings!
Sam – Apparently “fairytale” is my default genre!
John – He’s a forerunner to L’Oreal!! Merry Christmas ^_^
Maria A. Kelly says
Icy, this is charming and so well told. I love a good Christmas fable! Merry Christmas to you, dear!
Gracie says
Eee, how delightful! Best snow tale ever. I love everything about it.
Merry Christmas, Icy!

Beautiful. And how appropriate that someone named “Icy” is the author!
KjM says
Delightful. Warmth in the heart of frost.
Excellently done.
Steve Green says
Lovely piece of writing Icy, although I don’t like the cold, I do appreciate the beauty of snow, frost, and ice, on various surfaces, and your story brings these images to my mind.
Happy Christmas Icy. ๐

Jack Frost has always been a facinating character. You’ve brought him to life and given him a warm and kind heart.

Icy, (and how ironic that sounds), I love, love, love this story. So full of hope and love, so beautifully written.
I can’t help but think of my son, who was born during a blizzard – it was about 70F and felt so nice outside when I went to the hospital, but the next morning, after he was born, there was three feet of snow outside. I nicknamed him Frosty.
Thank you for a lovely story!
Julie (Okami) says
What a lovely story!! Thanks.

I love the way you portrayed her converting into the winter bride. Beautiful language and way of describing it. I can’t help but suspect that while Jack Frost lives through every year, she fades away as winter turns to spring.
Jason Coggins says
Perhaps I’m wired differently to the rest of your readership but this tale felt to me like an Origin issue of a new comic book series. Thus, I’ll be hanging out for the Special Collector’s Edition of “Lady Frost” issue 1 with the 3D hologram Icy cover … with optional frost bite.

Love the fairy tale aspect of it. As always, you have a great talent to invite your readers into your world, the beginning hooked me yet again. And a nice use of Jack Frost.
Intrigued by the line “They spend the rest of the evening turning the cruelty of winter into a paradise of art.” I can see that.
