Description in this piece is quite well done!
Though the knocking did lead one to think something really horrible was going to happen, Lord Mountrose’s words showed that he was actually quite polite!
Loved it. ๐
There’s a Montrose Park not far from where I live.

I got the inspiration while I was doing the tour of the catacombs at Kensal Green Cemetery. The guide kept pointing out all the scandalous, nasty characters down there, and I just kept thinking “I bet they’re glad they can’t hear this!”

Hi Icy,
this is a great little piece. Certainly got me laughing. I suspect it was his mother who was the conniving suspect behind the deeds, not Lord Mountrose. Might have to send Agatha Christie, or Morse, or Frost to investigate. This is going to keep me smiling all day.
The dialogue is really effective. Awesome work.
Also, thanks for putting me on your blog; very humbled that someone likes what I do. I have reciprocated the favour.
